Issues
ISBA represents the collective voice of British advertisers in protecting advertising freedoms across a broad range of issues.
Those currently on our agenda include:
- Promoting the value of advertising - we play a central role in the cross-industry campaign to defend the self-regulatory system and to promote the positive role of advertising in society
- Fostering an evidence-based debate on food advertising and children - putting advertising in the context of complex social issues such as obesity
- Promoting corporate social responsibility on alcohol issues - we helped write tougher advertising rules bringing industry and government together to address alcohol misuse
- Supporting socially responsible gambling operators which, under the new Gambling Act, are allowed to advertise for the first time
- Working with schools to ensure that both schools and local commercial partners can build relationships that are as rewarding as possible - for both sides.
- Influencing European regulations at source, putting advertisers' arguments direct to decision-takers in Brussels

The way that we as advertisers work is made more challenging by sometimes boisterous public debates. Thank goodness ISBA is there to put the industry view and to keep the debate rational.
