Marketing lawyers get advice on new unfair trading laws

In-house lawyers and senior marketers have attended a well-received CPD-accredited ISBA seminar, this time to learn more about the new Consumer Protection Regulations.
This was the first in a series of seminars where Lewis Silkin will be partnering with ISBA to deliver training for legal professionals on issues of the day.
The seminar looked at the legal ramifications of the CPRs on the advertising industry and marketing departments and was led by Brinsley Dresden of specialist media lawyers Lewis Silkin.
It covered a wide range of issues including:

The new "blacklist" of prohibited practices
Impact upon BOGOF offers and use of the word "free"
Impact upon word-of-mouth marketing, blogs and advertorials, etc

Business-to-business and comparative advertising

The continuing role of the ASA and CAP/BCAP Codes
All the seminars are accredited by the Law Society and earn participants Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.
