ISBA signs global SME Climate Commitment

ISBA is proud to announce that we have joined small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across the globe in making the SME Climate Commitment.

By signing up, we are committing to halving greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and to becoming net zero before 2050.

The SME Climate Hub forms part of the United Nations Race to Zero campaign — an international campaign that brings together an unprecedented coalition of real economy actors and 120 governments committed to achieve net-zero emissions by no later than 2050.

Phil Smith, ISBA’s Director General said: "The challenge of climate change is one that touches every discipline, every brand, and every industry. Playing our part in meeting it is crucial. By joining the SME Climate Hub we are demonstrating that we are taking the move to net zero seriously."

Alongside our SME Climate Commitment, ISBA are founding members of AdGreen, the advertising industry initiative which aims to eliminate the negative environmental impacts of production. AdGreen are providing tools for the whole advertising industry, included their recently launched Climate Calculator, available to access here.

We are also founding members of Ad Net Zero the industry-wide initiative dedicated to tackling the climate crisis. On 3 and 4 November in the run-up to COP 26, there will be a special two-day Ad Net Zero Global Summit, including thought leadership sessions, new research, and insights – as well as practical workshops from experts across our industry. The Summit is free to attend for any advertising professional around the world.
