Statement on the Cairncross Review

ISBA represented UK advertisers as part of the Cairncross Review, giving oral evidence twice and submitting written evidence.

We welcome the publication of Dame Frances’ Review. The impact of digital advertising and its trading practices on media economics and news media in particular, continues to be a concern to advertisers.

For many advertisers, they have little choice but to spend with one or other of the major platforms. We support the need for independent oversight of the digital platforms and continuing to contribute to the discussion about such a bodies scope and remit.
