UK advertising self-regulation is a global success story. In the Advertising Standards Authority, we enjoy one of the most respected, efficient and productive regulators in the world – driving trust in advertising in Britain.
In 2025, the ASA handled more than 37,000 complaints about ads – almost three-quarters of all complaints across Europe. Its proactive monitoring is up twelvefold since 2012, and its Active Ad Monitoring system scanned 60 million online ads last year.
Now, as the market continues to grow, UK advertising needs a new way to fund self-regulation to ensure that it continues to build that essential trust in the market.
With a long-term, equitable solution within reach, ISBA will unveil the “Proud to Support the ASA” initiative – showing how the UK’s major advertisers are making radical change to ensure that the ASA system thrives.
