TV is changing and fast. Consumption has increased during these COVID months with significant growth being seen from the streaming players but ad revenue for traditional broadcasters was falling even before lockdown.

Marc Pritchard recently critiqued the Upfronts and the antiquated way that TV is committed and traded, calling for more direct deals and improved effectiveness. We are also seeing increased trends in TV move to be more addressable as Smart TV’s account for over half of the TV sets in our living rooms. The US giant Comcast’s Sky AdSmart platform is gathering momentum as well as other Connected TV stateside players like Roku making a bigger play in Europe.
