101: Understanding the media planning process

2026 brings an updated 101 Knowledge Session programme available for all ISBA members. The sessions - curated in partnership with Pete Davis, MD of Getmemedia.com - deliver valuable insights and learnings from industry experts and address the whole media landscape and communications process.

This 101 session explores the end-to-end media planning process and the role advertisers play in shaping its effectiveness. We’ll look at how media agencies develop strategies and plans, how objectives and media KPIs ladder up to business goals, and why the quality of the brief is critical to success.
